Argument over cleaning leads to battery charge for Florida woman

When a contentious situation escalates, it is not unusual for the police to be called. Unfortunately, that often means that someone ends up facing serious criminal charges, sometimes for battery. If this does happen, the accused person may want to brush up on his or her options for dealing with such serious allegations.

One woman in Florida may be in need of legal information after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the woman and her husband got into an argument because the woman began vacuuming the house in the middle of the night. The man claims that he moved to different rooms in hopes of getting some sleep but that his wife came into each room with the vacuum. At some point, they began arguing, which resulted in the woman allegedly hitting the man with a part of the vacuum.

It was unclear how police were alerted to the situation, but nonetheless, officers came to the scene. The woman reportedly told police that she and her husband had been arguing but that she did not hit him. However, officers noticed an abrasion on the man's nose, which he claimed came from being hit with the vacuum attachment. As a result, the woman was taken into custody on a felony charge for battery.

Felony charges of any type are serious, and the woman will undoubtedly want to find the best way to handle the battery charge she currently faces. It may be in her best interests to utilize local Florida legal resources to gain reliable information on her legal options. Fully understanding the charges and the proceedings ahead may help her address her case.
