DUI allegations leveled against Florida woman after crash

The shock that comes along with facing criminal charges may take a bit of time to wear off. However, individuals may not want to take too long dwelling on how they ended up in the situation and may want to focus more on how they will handle the charges. Any driver could face accusations of DUI, even those who have not been drinking, and a meaningful criminal defense may help effectively address the situation.

One woman in Florida will undoubtedly want to closely assess her predicament after recently having charges brought against her. Reports stated that she was allegedly involved in a car accident with another vehicle. It was unclear what caused the accident, but authorities responding to the scene reportedly indicated that the woman smelled like alcohol, had slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests.

She was taken to a hospital after the accident, and after her release, she was taken into police custody for DUI. She reportedly agreed to participate in breath tests, and the results indicated levels of .191 and .189. Due to these levels, she is also facing an additional charge of DUI with BAC of .15 or higher.

Even though DUI charges are relatively common, they are still serious allegations to contend with. The woman involved in this Florida case may find it helpful to understand how any evidence gathered during and after her arrest could potentially be used against her. Additionally, she may want to review the various criminal defense strategies that may be open to her as her case moves forward.
