Florida grandmother charged with drug-related offenses

People in desperate situations often feel as if they have no control over their lives. In some instances, that may be the case, especially for individuals with addiction issues. Often, the substance becomes the controlling factor in their lives, and as a result, individuals may make decisions that result in their facing charges for drug-related offenses.

It was recently reported that one woman was taken into custody on a drug charge in Florida. Apparently, an officer allegedly saw the woman participate in a drug deal. The woman was in a vehicle with a 2-year-old child in the backseat, and the officer pulled her vehicle over. The officer then conducted a search of the vehicle and purportedly found a substance that appeared to be heroin.

Authorities arrested the woman on charges for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect. It was noted that the child was turned over to another family member. It was not mentioned whether the woman had obtained an attorney at the time of the report or whether she was still being held in custody.

Charges for drug-related offenses require a considerable amount of work to address. If this Florida woman is hoping to obtain the best possible outcome for her case, she certainly wants to put her best foot forward when it comes to building a criminal defense. She may understandably feel overwhelmed by the situation, and she may find it useful to her predicament to obtain reliable information that applies to her specific legal case.
