Apparent road rage leads to manslaughter charge for Florida man

When a person's actions are suspected to have led to the death of another person, it is common for criminal charges to result. In some instances, manslaughter allegations may seem appropriate depending on the exact details of the incident. Though this allegation may seem less serious than murder charges, it is still a severe accusation to face.

One man in Florida recently had a manslaughter charge brought against him in relation to an event that took place last year. Apparently, the man was driving a vehicle when he and another driver allegedly got into an altercation. The situation resulted in both drivers pulling over, and the second driver exited his vehicle. Allegedly, the man accelerated and struck the other driver. That person became stuck underneath the man's vehicle and was dragged a considerable distance.

The incident resulted in the second driver suffering fatal injuries. An investigation was opened, and after months of looking into information, authorities have charged the man with manslaughter involving a weapon and leaving the scene with death. It was not mentioned whether the man had obtained legal counsel to assist with his case.

The allegation of manslaughter has undoubtedly come as a difficult blow to the man. Still, he must handle his legal case as it moves through the Florida criminal justice system. It may benefit him to fully understand the details of the situation that led to the charge as well as gain information on the allegation itself. This and other information could allow him to better prepare his criminal defense presentation if he wishes to do so.
