Mentally ill man accused of murder in Florida

Many individuals struggle throughout life with mental illness. In many cases, people often do not receive the treatment needed to keep their illnesses from becoming too overwhelming. As a result, it is not unusual for some struggling individuals to carry out acts that could potentially cause harm to others and lead to criminal charges for serious crimes, like murder.

It was recently reported that a 30-year-old man, whose parents claim has mental health issues, was recently charged in Florida after a fatal incident. Apparently, the man had been driving a vehicle when he drove over a grassy area and crashed into a father and two sons riding bicycles. The man then reportedly drove away from the scene. The 42-year-old father suffered fatal injuries in the incident, and a 3-year-old boy was seriously injured. An 8-year-old child was also involved in the event, but he apparently did not suffer serious harm.

The man's parents stated that he has suffered from mental illness for nearly a decade. They also stated that he had posted incoherent and distressing videos on his social media accounts. Police later took the man into custody, and he is currently facing charges for premeditated first-degree murder and leaving the scene of a fatal incident.

The allegations for murder and other charges brought against this man can have severe impacts on his life if he is convicted in a court of law. However, the man's mental illness could potentially play a role in his case. In order to determine how he could use such information as part of his criminal defense, it may prove wise for him to utilize local Florida legal resources for assistance.
