Juvenile crimes: 3 teens charged after Florida robbery

Most people know that kids do not always make the best decisions. However, some of those decisions could land them in serious legal trouble. Juvenile crimes are no laughing matter, and if minors are accused of serious charges, their futures could be at risk of facing immensely negative impacts.

It was recently reported that three teens were taken into custody in Florida. Reportedly, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy got gone into a restaurant with a handgun and demanded money. They allegedly threatened the manager, who opened the register. The teens took cash from the register then went back to their vehicle, where a third teen was waiting. Officers later spotted the car, and a chase ensued.

The driver of the car lost control, which caused the vehicle to hit a tree before overturning. Authorities say they apprehended the teens as they were attempting to exit the car. None of them suffered serious injuries in the incident. They are all facing charges for robbery with a firearm, and the driver of the vehicle is also facing an allegation for auto theft.

Though the individuals involved in this situation are minors, they could still face severe consequences if they are convicted of the charges brought against them. Their parents may want to better understand how allegations of juvenile crimes are handled in Florida and whether there is a chance that their children could be tried as adults. Additionally, they may find it helpful to utilize local legal resources to find out information on possible defense options.
