Woman facing multiple DUI charges in Florida after fatal crash

After facing criminal charges, there are many ways in which individuals could choose to handle their predicaments. Typically, accused parties want to give their sides of the situation and defend against allegations in hopes of preventing or at least lessening the potential for serious consequences. When a case of suspected DUI involves a fatality, the person charged will likely need a strong defense presentation.

One woman in Florida is making headlines not only for her alleged involvement in a fatal car accident but also for the mug shot taken after her arrest. Reports stated that the 44-year-old woman was driving a vehicle when it collided with the rear of another car. The force of the impact caused the second car to crash into a horse trailer in front of it. The driver of the second car was an 18-year-old woman, and her 60-year-old mother was a passenger.

The crash caused the mother to suffer a severe head injury that proved fatal. The young driver suffered only minor injuries in the incident, and the driver of the striking vehicle was not injured. That driver purportedly told police that she had dropped her cell phone and hit the other vehicle while she was trying to retrieve the phone. However, blood alcohol testing apparently indicated that she was over the legal limit. After being taking into custody on various DUI charges, the woman gave a grin for her mug shot.

The circumstances of a suspected DUI crash can have immense impacts on the exact charges brought against an accused driver. The woman involved in this Florida case is facing multiple serious allegations already, and the situation could escalate due to the fatality that occurred. In order to understand her most feasible options for building a meaningful defense, she may want to gain reliable information from local legal resources.
